Interesting concept. Do I understand correct that you want to deliver this vehicle “standard” under the R 250 000.00 mark so that you can legally tow a older generation dubbel horsebox or trailer with a GVM of up to 3.5 tons with out having to change anything on the said trailer?

ReplyDeleteYou are spot on. The brief from the owner was exactly that. He had a 1979 Ford 250 Custom available that he wanted to utilize for towing three different horseboxes. Taking the applicable regulations into consideration we rebuild his vehicle and added the improvements needed to make this vehicle an up to date ride. That includes power steering, certain modifications on the exhaust system, adaptations on the carburetion and a modernization on the breaking system. It also meant the complete dismantling and reassembling of the vehicle replacing all the rubbers and worn parts with new of the shelf parts. With this vehicle you can now legally tow a two horse horsebox without having to install service brakes on the trailer.
Does this then mean that I can also get it in a dubble cab / sleeper cab configiration?

DeleteFor this particular configuration we use the models available of the Ford F250 as the donor vehicle. To conform to the capabilities we need, the models between 1972 and 1979 are the preferred ones due to several reasons. It boils down to the point of what can be done and what do you want done. The answer is therefore as simple as; you choose the configuration and we do the application.

ReplyDeleteThese are scale models of the original aircraft and is in actual fact peddle cars for children. They are fully functional in the sense that the kids sit in the craft and pedal around on a flat surface. There are different models and the price is around R 5 000.00 per unit.
